It’s election day and we’re not far from the nation’s capital in Virginia (where, so far, about all we’ve seen are Romney/Ryan/Cantor signs). One of the more intriguing commentaries I’ve read in recent days is this one from Spiegel Online:

I’d say you got the less accomplished chap. After another four years y’all are still likely to know little about him – not even what aspect of his birth he has been so keen to hide. (Though I’d bet my bottom dollar that his having been born in Kenya ain’t it.)
I think that the problem with telling the unvarnished truth these days, is that it would make every political speech sound like Jimmy Carter’s malaise speech.
Look how well that worked out for him.
I think Romney was very unlucky and did very well with what he was given. I wonder how much of an impact Sandy had on the outcome.
